   Jonathan — Another One Bites The Dust was the song played so often when a hitter struck out in a game. As an umpire at every level up to Div. I NCAA, I’ve probably heard that song a quadrillion times by now.

   My all time favorite though was a game in which my son Josh was the pitcher. Heard that damn some 13 times.

   Good times…good times.

   If you ever worked a game at Packard Stadium at ASU and I called you Sluggo, it wasn’t personal.

   My ex-wife, a gem and one of the best mothers ever, used to request I use my ‘good eye’ next time. Everyone’s a comedian. Folks in the stands knew who she was and on a close call would immediately look her way.

   One time when the crowd was particularly unruly over a call, she looked at all the eyes on her and said, ‘Hey, I didn’t marry him for his eyesight.’
