Rounding Third and Heading for Home

As the story goes, major league pitcher Pascual Perez once hit a triple and upon arriving at third base looked at the third base coach for assistance.

“What do I do now,” he asked earnestly.

“What do you mean,” the coach said.

“It’s just I’ve never been here before.”

I’m feeling a little bit like Pascual Perez this morning as, at least as far as Bank of America and its short sale department is concerned, I’ve never been here before.

90fleerperez.jpgFrom what I’ve been told, we’ve received preliminary approval on the short sale offer submitted at the end of September. (For those who still believe short sales can be quick – there was only one loan to be considered and the offer was at current market value, not a lowball fired at an already ludicrous list price.)

There still are i’s to cross and t’s to dot, or something like that, and then we’ll in theory have an actual by God approval being delivered to my fax machine barring something unforeseen. Which, with Bank of America and short sales, remains a distinct possibility. Or maybe I’m just a little cynical.

Then again, this isn’t really the time for cynicism. My sellers and I are standing on third and, hopefully, someone will point out where home plate is. Just in case.

  1. Have to respect any post where you can tie in Pascual Perez to short sales.

  2. I think working Pascual Perez into any post is Pulitzer worthy
