A View of Downtown Phoenix … Or Not

avatarthumbnail.jpgI’ve been told on occasion that I need to try and make the blog more visual. This isn’t my forte as I’m a writer by background. Ask me to describe something I see and I can do it with little trouble. Ask me to photograph something with the hope of conveying it’s beauty and I’m lost.

My standard joke … a picture’s with 1,000 words but I get paid by the word.

But I still try. Here’s the view of downtown Phoenix from the top floor of the parking garage just south of Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Looming to the left is the Summit at Copper Square, a luxury condo high rise across from the ballpark.

Downtown Phoenix from Chase Field
I had debated making this the new header for the blog but was vetoed “because it doesn’t look like Phoenix.” Even though it is Phoenix.

What do you think?

It doesn’t look like Phoenix! FWIW I like the current header.

Yes, I know that view…it’s taken from:

    If I’m not mistaken.

This one’s from across the street from where you were inside Summit …

Jim – thanks for the vote! It probably doesn’t look Phoenix-ish, but it really is Phoenix.

Well, yes, I meant to provide a picture of where the picture was taken from: Chase Field.

Close … 6th floor of the garage. Forgot the camera when I went inside yesterday.

    Ok, then from over here:

A view from within Chase, looking down Jackson, would probably be more telling of Phoenix, given you see US Airways, so that garage vantage point isn’t half bad…
