In case you haven’t heard, there’s an election going on today. Maybe even more than one, depending on where you are in the country.
Stories of long lines tend to keep people away. For what it’s worth, I had to wait a grand total of two minutes this morning when I voted. It probably will be a bit worse after most people get off work, but it is what it is.
Absorption rate figures likely will be delayed by a day … plans for this afternoon are to dip into our backlog of sangria and watch election returns through the early afternoon and into the night. I’m also contemplating creating a drinking game where you’re required to take a drink every time some talking head calls this an “historic” election.
(Notice how everything’s historic this year? The election, the debates, the conventions – because this is the first time in history any of this has happened. Wait … you mean this happens every four years? Never mind.)
If you can make it to the polls, do so. We’ll see you on the other side.
