Here’s a weather oddity from a land where weather oddities don’t exist.
Last year at this time we were experiencing 108-degree temperatures on the Monday of the week. On Friday, a low pressure system moved in and as some of us sat uncomfortably on the campus of Arizona State University watching an NCAA Softball Super Regional, we were buffeted by thunderstorms and 30 MPH winds and the mercury hovered in the low 50s.
No one I spoke to could remember a 50-degree swing in late May … having lived here for more than 30 years, that’s quite a span.
Then there’s this year … showing homes in 104 degree temperatures Tuesday afternoon, and then stepping outside today into 73 degree weather with light sprinkles following late afternoon and early evening rain last night.
What can I say … the weather is here …
