“Good to hear Toots and the Maytals, isn’t it?”
So asked Debbie in Grosse Point Blank, which has been on television over the last few days compelling me to watch it for the 152nd and 153rd times. Aside from some great dialogue (“You don’t know if your cat’s a boy or a girl?” “I respect its privacy.”) it also has some decent music.
Though I’m still annoyed that War N Roses’ “Live and Let Die” was included in the movie and on the soundtrack since it hadn’t been released by 1986, which is when Martin was supposed to have graduated from high school.
Perhaps it doesn’t matter. How much should authenticity count in what’s supposed to be a comedy, albeit an incredibly dark comedy?
In any event, enjoy Toots and the Maytals. It’s pretty much half past beer o’clock here.[youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_St8Kbo4uwU 400 300]
