Have $10,000 Burning a Hole In Your Pocket?

avatarthumbnail.jpgThe 2008 World Series of Poker kicked off yesterday at the poker room of the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino. So if you happen to have $10,000 to spare and would like to sponsor a boy and his beagle in exchange for a share of the spoils, we’ll be happy to take the trip to Las Vegas.

Think of it as an infusion of venture capital … and not nearly as much as other real estate startups have requested and received the past couple of years.

For the truly insane, or morbidly curious, Gutshot.com had day-by-day coverage of the World Series last year that was quite entertaining. I didn’t see anything today when I looked but I’m hopeful it kicks in soon.

One year, I *will* play the main event.

    Sad, from GutShot’s “coverage” page:

“As a lot of you will already know Barron Vangor Toth died two weeks ago at the tragically young age of 34. He was largely responsible for the fantastic Gutshot coverage at the WSOP over the last couple of years.”

    Cancer sucks.

I missed the note because I was looking for WSOP, not the Polish Open. That’s brutal … I read a lot of his stuff last year.

Sucks doesn’t quite sum it up.

They say that around a 100,000 people will actually watch the event at the Rio. If you make it out this way you’ll have to look me up.

I have to agree with Jonathon, sucks doesn’t come close to summing it up, especially at 34.
