One of the RE.Net’s Originals’ Latest Battle

Once upon a time, the real estate blogging world was a very different place.

Long before NAR essentially said that everyone needed to have a real estate blog, long before their were experts telling you what you should and shouldn’t write about, what keyword strategy to have, how to integrate blogging into your so-called social media strategy, there were a handful of pioneers – a far more appropriate term than “early adopter” – the folks who were blazing trails in areas not before known to exist.

Only in those days could a real estate blogger and his partner post a photograph from The Matrix with the post title “There is No Spoon,” unplug for a week and not only generate more than a dozen comments without content but actually be missed. That was how tight the real estate blogging community was back then.

Joe Ferrara and his then-partner on the sellsius blog were among those original trailblazers. Somehow, they were able to hold a real estate focus while writing about just about everything else on earth. Never intended just for consumers or real estate agents, sellsius was the product of whatever crossed their minds.

Right now, Joe’s mind – not accurate – his brain is turning on him. Word came out today on the Phoenix Real Estate Guy that Joe is battling a very aggressive malignant brain tumor and is in ICU at a New York area hospital.

Needless to say, medical bills stack up pretty quickly … if there’s anything you might be able to do to help, simply click on the Donate button below.

Joe always has been the first to stand up for those who find themselves on the wrong end of a misguided attack from the re.net’s a-hole set. He’s shared his wisdom for years both publicly as a speaker at many, many conferences and also privately as a friend.

Simply put, he’s one of a kind.

Times are tough so if you can’t donate, feel free to throw a prayer his direction as well. Hopefully, Someone will be listening and help in that manner as well.

If only reality could be bent as easily as Neo bent the spoon …

  • Thanks JD. Joe truly is one of the good guys. This situation just makes me want to throw up.

    Got it …

Amazing the things you suddenly remember. When I first moved this to WordPress, Joe (and you) were the first two to congratulate me on the move before I even went live because WP sent the link.

    Damn, this sucks.
