Phoenix Real Estate Inventory’s Jumping

Jonathan Dalton, Phoenix Real Estate AgentWow.

I’ll have the so-called official numbers tomorrow but inventory in the Phoenix real estate market already is hopping. We’re up over 37,400 single-family homes on the market in Maricopa County, a rise of around 600 over the past week. And it’s almost certain to go higher.

Usually there’s a little lag before listings that drop off the market December 31 come back on but no so this time around. We’re still nowhere close to the 40,000 of late last summer but we’re heading that way quickly.

That’s rough news. I just finished reading an article stating that prices are going to get worse than previously thought. Just seems to keep getting worse.

Can you post the actual numbers when you get them? Also do you know if they include condos in their single-family homes figures, if not do you have figures for how many condos are on the market?

Actual numbers will be up shortly and do not include single-family. But I’ll add that to the post.

Townhouse market isn’t something I’ve tracked but it’s easy to find as a one-off kinda thing.
