Phoenix’s Bizarre Bipolar Weather

avatarthumbnail.jpgOne of the accepted realities of life here in Phoenix is once the thermometer crosses the triple-digit plateau, it doesn’t recede until October. It’s been that way since my family and I moved here from the San Fernando Valley 31 years ago (this very week, incidentally.)

Which is what makes the last two days somewhat … well, odd.

On Monday and Tuesday we were baking through 109-degree days.

Right now, it’s 54 degrees and overcast.

It’s rarely 54 degrees here in February, much less the closing days of May.

If you’re one of my Canadian friends in town looking for homes … well, first of all why are you not looking at homes with me? But putting that aside, this is not the usual weather for the month of May. There’s a reason most of your countrymen departed for the north over a month ago.

Reality’s due to return next week. In the interim, I’m driving to my appointments today with the sunroof blissfully open.
