I don’t write this blog for the search engines. Yes, the phrase Phoenix real estate will make its way into a title or a post a couple of times a week (out of around 15 posts or more) but I’m not a Phoenix real estate agent telling you that in the Phoenix real estate market I can best handle your Phoenix real estate needs.
Painful, eh? Some blogs are like that. NAR’s pseudo-mandate that “thou must blog” last year led to an upswing in the number of real estate blogs being written. It also led to an increase in the number of blogs written for all the wrong reasons – to try and make the search engines happy.
Blessed by an apparent change in Google’s search algorithm, this blog now appears on the first page of results on Google for “Phoenix Arizona Real Estate.” A friend of mine even took a cool photo with his iPhone that I’m going to turn into a full back tattoo.
What does this have to do with you? Quite a lot, actually.
I’ve never been shy about advertising my listings on this blog, usually with an initial post and their own separate page in the left sidebar. Some agents won’t do this, which is their choice. My thinking is you already know I sell real estate so why dance around that fact?
Better rankings on the search engines turns into more viewers. More viewers means more people looking at any property I have listed on the side. While I’d like think my sterling prose is the hook, here are the top-viewed pages on this site since January 1:
- Blog (general)
- Phoenix Real Estate Search
- Featured Homes
- 10649 W. Adela
- Bank Owned Homes
Bank Owned Homes, incidentally, has only been on the page for about 10 days or so.
Even on a real estate blog, people want to see houses. With a little help from Google, more people than ever will be coming to this blog to see houses. Will yours be here?
