It finally has happened … the Arizona Regional MLS, the MLS that services the Phoenix area, finally has released the full feed to the IDX provider. With that change comes the ability to search specifically for bank owned homes.
The only question was how best to present the search. Our final product is a separate web site devoted strictly to bank owned properties. Not only do you have a map based search for a couple dozen cities in Maricopa County and the greater Phoenix real estate market, you also have new listings divided by price point.
There are a couple of quirks, most notably the new listings posts. Since these appear as posts, they don’t disappear when a home’s status changes. If a home is no longer active, you’ll be directed to the general search page instead of the details page.
Yes, I’m asking for your basic contact info to access the homes … so be it. As the hundreds who already have registered for searches on one of my other six sites have found, you’re not going to be inundated with calls but I will be checking in to see what questions I might be able to answer.
So far, that follow-up call has directly helped more than a couple of buyers find just the right home for them as I’ve helped them focus their search.
There’s more in store for the new website – a how-to guide to purchasing bank owned homes eventually will find it’s way there, but given how long I’ve been waiting to be able to share the REO inventory with you, I didn’t want to wait until absolutely everything was complete to launch.
Let me know what you think … and happy hunting!
