Tempe Town Lake is a Lake Once More

As I wrote back in July, one of the rubber bladders holding together the man-made Tempe Town Lake had ruptured, sending water down the normally dry Salt River bed, leaving thousands of fish beached and shutting down activity on the waterway – sailing, boat tours, the ASU rowing team to name a few.

This past week, however, the water returned and Tempe’s waterfront Rio Salado area now is waterfront property once more.

For a rundown of activities available on Tempe Town Lake now that the water is back, you can visit the City of Tempe’s official site for the lake and Rio Salado.

And if you’re just curious how it looks, here’s the view from Sun Devil Stadium on the lake’s south side during the second quarter of Arizona State’s 42-0 homecoming victory over Washington State on Saturday.
