Vacation Home House Sitting Services through Sun Valley Home Watch

avatarthumbnail.jpgI’m often asked about house-sitting services for vacation homes, folks who will come in and make sure everything’s okay in the months you’re not here. Your traditional property manager is more of a rental manager and doesn’t handle these tasks unless you have tenants.

This morning I received a comment from Roger at Sun Valley Home Watch. I’ll tell you up front that I don’t know Roger and having just heard from him today I haven’t had anyone use his services. Having said that, I welcome you to check out his website or give him a call and see if what he does is right for you.

Most importantly, at least for the purposes of this site, I need you to check back in and let me know how Sun Valley does … if the service is great, if the service isn’t, I want to know so I know whether to recommend them in the future. He says his company is licensed and insured, so that in itself beats having a neighbor stopping by.

We may or may not relocate to Phoenix, but we do have a need to be there for the early part of 2011, as early as now and staying through May at the latest. We will then spend a few months in Texas. We know we have the seasonal availabilities backward, but we need to be there for work and to be near some of our grandchildren. So, our 1st question is, do you know of house sitting opportunities that might be available. We still own a home in NC, have plenty of references, and will be pleased to help someone with a short term need to have their property watched. What do you think the chances are?
