When the Right House is the White House

avatarthumbnail.jpgHere’s something I could not have done when I first broke into the real estate business five years ago.

Yesterday I picked a client up at Starbucks to look at homes in Arrowhead Ranch. After just three homes, the day’s plans were scrapped when it was determined a previously unmentioned lakefront lot was a must.

There are a few different options for lakefront property in Arrowhead, some in place as golf course hazards and other lakes spread across different subdivisions within the larger community. Where to start was in doubt until the buyers said they had seen “white” homes when driving the area with their daughter.

In an instant, I knew they meant Arrowhead Lakes, a hunch confirmed when we drove across 59th Avenue and entered the subdivision.

If this had happened when I first entered the business, I probably would have spent more than a little time driving in circles trying to figure out the right spot. But with experience comes, well, experience. And so it was that we were able to take what was to be an exploratory trip and accelerate the search process considerably.

It’s not always this easy to match clients to their new homes, but it happens more often than not. Sometimes, I just need the right hint.
